Nope not anymore. They only carry Grobbels now.
And yes I love Wigleys but you cannot buy it sliced a 1/2 lb at a time to make a sandwich at least to my knowledge

After all, they are "America's Oldest Corned Beef Specialist" and a Detroit institution since 1883!

Had some Wigley's for breakfast brunch at my father's today.

My Irish aunt in Corktown has studied them all...and she will only buy Wigley's.

    I enjoyed mine today...heh.

I have some history with one of the family members, too, but I don't let that bias my opinion.

Had some experience with the Sy Ginsberg people, and think they run a great business. Their 'top-cut' Pastrami is far and away the best in town, but it is only available to the high-end delis as far as I know. It was the only stuff I'd buy for Eph's...over double the price of their regular and also quite excellent standard gold-label pastrami, which is available through the regular sources like Restaurant Supply, but EVERY time I had to get the next level down...we heard about it from a few of our more discerning clients.

Eph's didn't use either Sy Ginsberg or Wigley's...or Groebbels...I cannot remember the vendor but it was another good group of guys in Eastern Market. Wasn't the Wolverine people, damned if I cannot remember the name.

Regardless, personally it is Wigley's first, then Sy Ginsberg second...then nothing!

    Cheers and happy holidays...

After visiting DeHoCo, I stopped in Detroit Ham and Corned Beef around 9:30 AM. Luckily I could get could get a Sy Ginsburg sandwich at that time. There was a worker from the Jimmy John's two doors down there picking up an order of corned beef for their store. Pretty funny.

Wigleys corned beef is available at their deli counter in the Russell street store. They cook it on site, and you can buy it freshly sliced in any amount that you want.

I buy it a 1/2 pound at a time on a regular basis. It is fantastic...
