    Default Henderson motorcycle factory

    One of the great marques in vintage motorcycles, the innovative four-cylinder Henderson, was manufactured in Detroit from 1911 to 1918 and then in Chicago from 1918 to the brand's demise in 1931. In Detroit, the factory's address was 268 Jefferson Avenue. My question is: can anyone tell me how this address translates to the current numbering system and where this factory was located? I'm sure the building is long gone, but what is there now?

    East Jefferson? Between Brush [[264 --> 400) and Beaubien [[292 --> 500).
    West Jefferson? Between 5th [[254 --> 1000) and 6th [[294 --> 1200).

    BTW, I have a listing for them from 1914 at 1158 Cass, although maybe that was the office and not the factory.

    It was located on E. Jefferson at the corner of Brush. From the 1912 Detroit City Directory:

    Thanks. So this was on the south side of E. Jefferson, roughly where the Ren Cen is now?
