Up to 1,600 people go missing in Detroit every year. While many runaways are juveniles who return after days away from home other missings end up dead or are never found again. Leaving family with no closure and wonder what happened, where are they at?
The Detroit Police Department started the Missing Persons Unit in March of 2010 to deal with the large number of cases. Office Michael Woody heads up the 6 person unit that travels the city searching for the missing, following up on those who have returned and sometimes find their missing persons dead in horrific crimes.

I'm surprised the yearly amount is that high.

Not knowing where a loved one is or what's happened to them has to be excruciating.
