The many movements to fix Detroit need to begin thinking, talking and acting on peak oil. Having weathered decades of a different kind of emergency, I think we have the potential to face this unfolding crisis in a better way than some other parts of the world.

The film "Collapse" seems like a black helicopter piece, but see it. Though it's not specifically about Detroit, I strongly feel we need to discuss these problems in slices smaller than globally, pared down to the level of the neighborhood.
