Thread: Blizzard

    Default Blizzard

It is snowing slush here and the winds are gusting and howling. Going out tonight? Stay home by the fire.

I hope you are all safe and warm!

I wonder how the Silverdome is holding up?

    It's December. It snows.
But that was the wettest, heaviest stuff I ever shoveled!
Be careful, people, and stay out of the emergency room...

You must have seen the story about the Metrodome collapse in Minneapolis. Yeah, it looks like pretty heavy snow too.

The Weather Channel kept changing their accumulation forecast as this storm approached. I guess that's because it's harder to predict with a rain/snow mix.

Nothing like a good winter storm. We did not get the much accumulation here but we got the winds and cold. Lake Michigan is really churning.

Hand shoveled earlier and salted too. Nasty heavy wet stuff. Tomorrow will crank up the snow blower. Hired a fellow forumer to make sure it fired up and had fresh gas, oil etc. a few weeks back. Glad I did. Happy too I have salt on hand.

Didn't used to be this organized but with age comes wisdom and /or heart attacks.

Stay safe, everyone! All that heavy, wet snow is now freezing over and is becoming a sheet of ice on the roads.

Yeah, this isn't good snow. This, this is slush. Be careful driving. The GAR Building looks like a snow globe ice castle.

Mine too. We got about 8" of wet stuff last night here [[Central WA). I went back and forth in the drive, flattening it out with the pickup.

That's how I 'plow' my drive, too.
One time, I had a street parking space. Did the same back and forth to pack it down after a snowfall. 2 neighbors came to help push me out, thought I was stuck!

What is this snow of which you speak? What is slush? Am I on the Dubai forum?

Come to think of it, what is a grand prix? Is this a porn site?

betterhalf used to do that before he married me. Now that I've retired, the snow is my duty. I've hired a plowing company this winter. 8-)

Oh Hell Yeah! I KNEW we were long lost sisters!

I wish more folks living in regular neighborhood hired guys who use blowers, instead of the snow plow guys. Those plows push the snow across the street onto the neighbor's lawn, they really are set up for parking lots and large areas, and just are a terror in close-set neighborhoods.

You all speaking of slush I couldnt help but remember Bill Cosbys Revenge. The slushball incident.

I was so impressed by Coz that I actually put a snowball in the freezer after listening to that skit when I was about ten.

    Still makes me laugh.

Looks like you are 'neighbors' Paulie. Click on rid0617's name and then click View Public Profile. Blowing and drifting with a high of 14 today is forecast for today but the sun comes out this PM.

I hear that, due to physical issues I've not shoved snow in 20 years. My neighbor does it, or we pay to have it done with snow blowers etc. They are saying already 4 local deaths attributed to shoveling snow. Be careful everyone....

Mine too, they ended early in my life. I live in a shared dwelling and we pay to have it done with snow blowers....
