    Planet Ant Productions Presents...

Detroit Be Dammed: A Beaver's Tale
An epic comedy musical about the history of Detroit

at the Park Bar [[2040 Park Ave, Downtown Detroit)

Everyone has heard of the Fords and the Fishers, but who the hell are the LeMerdes? Jaques LeMerde arrived on the banks of the Detroit River with Antoine de La Mothe Cadillac in 1701 to establish Detroit as a trading post for beaver and other furs. LeMerde’s unsung progeny have been fighting the good fight in Detroit ever since.

Detroit Be Dammed: A Beaver’s Tale recounts the stories of the LeMerde family as they live through some of Detroit’s most famous historical moments. Park Bar and Planet Ant invite you to enjoy this multi-media spectacle featuring sketch comedy, ten original songs, animation and video.

The show was written by Shawn Handlon, a Second City alum, and Mikey Brown, a local musician.

Tickets: $20 [[cash only at the door, ATM on site)

La merde. Et puis, si on veut lui donner un petit accent québécois, on dirait; La marde.

Just a little tweak on the feminine article, it should be a la instead of le. This looks like fun. Wish I could see the show.

The hubby and I saw this production last spring at the Planet Ant Theatre, and thought it was hilarious and well-done. We highly recommend it!!!

    Thanks, Kathleen.

We've made some pretty big changes--took out some stuff that didn't work, added some new scenes and tightened the screws on the rest. Come see it again for the first time.
