Default Anyone know what this building was and what the name of the building is?

Thanks for your help team! The building is located on Grand River near The Lodge Freeway next to Motor City Casino and directly across the street from the old BP gas station at Temple and Grand River.

I believe that was the bar where Monica Conyers got into a beat down with another women over some guy. From what I understand she was sitting at the bar trying to hustle drinks and some women got upset when her boyfriend actually bought her one.

I was thinking it was a bar. That corner had a special nickname for having a bar, a church, a school and I forget what the fourth thing was, maybe it was that motel a little ways down..

I attended a jazz concert / benefit there a few years back. Bill Foster operated the jazz performance and education venue as the Serengeti Ballroom under the non-profit Jazz Network of which he was director. He moved to this location from the building [forgot its name] directly south of the Addison Building on Woodward at Charlotte when rent was raised Also the old site lacked parking. Serengeti Galleries was a side effort at funding, selling Haitian Art.

Not sure, but there's a great motel across the street if you're in a hurry.

Here's an interesting nearby street scene. I guess there was no room at the Viking Inn:

Half past 3? I think it was in the same area.

I could only find it by accident and never when looking for it.

It looks to me like a place that was called Mitch's that was there in the mid 90s. I know I went to bar/restaurant called Mitch's once or twice back then when I worked at 640 Temple. However, I could be wrong. It's been a while since I worked in that area.

Nope, Mitch's On The River is further down, but thanks everyone for the posts, especially Lowell!
