Default Any Restaurants Open on Thanksgiving?

Along with making the phone calls to restaurants I'd like to go to on Thursday - thought I'd query the forum users. I know that some Chinese & Middle Eastern restaurants & coney islands are open. I'm thinking about Italian places that may be open. Not Olive Garden! I've called the Roman Village and all of their places are not open that day. Does anyone know for sure of any others? Detroit or suburbs.

Not sure what time of day you're looking to eat at, but I know for a fact that Good Girls Go To Paris Crepes [[in the Park Shelton) will be open with a limited menu for the parade. They'll be open from 7 a.m. until noon.

A couple of years ago we had a turkey dinner at the New Parthenon after a Lions game. I would assume the casino restaurants would be open also.

Boston Market says that all of their stores are open on Thanksgiving Day. I inquired to them for a relative.

Try Andiamos. We ate there one year for Thanksgiving instead of all the goofing around. The one in SCS.

Pick your favorite Windsor eatery. Not a holiday there.

Can't remember the name....I imagine the Chinese Restaurant that Ralphie went to with his parents on Christmas Day, would also be open on Thanksgiving.

Bo-Ling Chop Suey Palace. It's actually in Toronto. Love that movie. It was the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread.

Nick's 22nd Street Steakhouse on Van Dyke just south of 22 Mile Rd. opens at 2 PM on Thanksgiving Day. They will be closing early so all ahead to confirm that you aren't going to arrive too late [[586-731-3900).

Aren't many restaurants open? We went to Pegasus in Greektown 3 years ago I think. They had a nice Thanksgiving platter. Not to be a dick or an elitist, but I'm sure it beats the hell out of Boston Market or Chinese slop, honestly.

    Como's - Ferndale
    Lilly's Seafood - Royal oak
    Oxford Inn - Royal oak

And the huge high quality all inclusive buffet at the Hyatt Regency Deardorn.
The tradition meal at the Dearborn Inn.

Thanksgiving dinner at Morton's, Ruth Chris, and Mitchell's in Birmingham.

    Happy Thanksgiving

www.detnews.com/restaurants is always a good place to start for questions like these. Here's an article on that homepage that gives several good options for eating on Thanksgiving [[and includes prices, phone numbers and addresses): http://www.detnews.com/article/20101...-the-trimmings

You could try Giulios for excellent Italian food. They are open from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

It has a extreme drawback though. It is in Livonia. Horrors!

Bet you don't run into Planner3357.

Jman - I've actually been to Giulios when it was under a different name - started with a "D". 2 or 3 times when they had a jazz trio playing in the background in a dark corner of the room. There was a fire and it re-opened under the present name.
Planner3357's loss I'm afraid. Good food as I recall.

The previous name escapes me but I dined in there quite a few times in the late 80's, early 90's before the fire.

I think Giulios food is even better.

Thanks everyone for some thoughtful suggestions - even for that delicious delicacy the Scots-Irish MacRib. As if anybody cares, we finally went to the same place as last year - The Cedarland on Warren Ave. east of Schaeffer. Complimentary cup of crushed lentil soup, strong Turkish coffee, fatoush, lamb kabobs, grape leaves, fried lamb kibbee, spinach pie, hummus, ice cream & sweet, sweet dessert pastries.
