    Default "infamous Great Lakes"

    http://www.detroitmi.gov/Departments...roitHomes.aspx

Shown are four models offered by Gratiot McDougall United Community Development Corporation. The models commemorate the state's infamous Great Lakes: Left-Right models are named Ontario, Superior, Michigan and Huron properties.

"These programs provide funds to Community Housing Development Organizations [[CHDOS, pronounced cho-doze) and non-profit housing corporations in Detroit."

Shouldn't it be CHDOs? And who cares how you pronounce an acronym?

"Affordable housing resulting from partnerships between the City of Detroit and affordable housing development organizations are featured in this section."

This is horrible. Should read: "This section features housing created by the City of Detroit in concert with various affordable housing oranizations."

    Bad writing. Bad, bad, bad.

Houses for people suffering from aquaphobia. There is no running water in those houses.

Reminds me of the movie "The Three Amigos"

Exactly the wrong kind of housing we need in the city. Is there not already an abundant amount of single family dwellings?

We need to add density, and suburb-looking houses like this will not do that. We need more multifamily buildings in strategic areas. Which brings up another problem-- scattered development. There are a lot of examples of single family houses built in random places, such as the desolate areas of Core City and Brightmoor. It represents a lack of planning on a city-wide scale.

We need concentration of density in strategic zones that have potential for development. "Real" cities have density.
