Domtoren Clock Tower Plays the Marble Machine Song

Malgosia Feibig surprised me completely by playing the Marble Machine song on the Carillion of the Domtoren clock tower for the whole city of Utrecht [Netherlands]! Thanks so much Malgosia for showing us and everybody else the Domtoren of Utrecht! Martin & Co.

Non-cajun singer doing a fun slightly surreal performance of a cajun tune Parlez Nous a Boire. High quality sound and video editing. How can this have only 10,900 views? Jennifer Ewan: vocals, guitar and personality+
    Fast forward to 45 seconds.

Notice they had "Honky Tonk" on the opening billboard of her performance...

I imagined the Jennifer Evans cut to be sort of what one would expect if recorded on the halodeck. For purists, the Balfa Brothers version works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fs12_-ihPY

A non-Cajun Dutch group, Cochon Bleu, also did a good version of another Balfa Brothers piece La Danse de Marti Gras managing to retain its primal quality.

History note: England kicked thousands of French speaking Acadians out of what are now Maritime provinces. They were spread all over. Many found their way to Louisiana where Spain had settled some French speakers. Jean Lafitte was a Jewish merchant from Spain/France who also wound up in Louisiana and helped defeat the English. Canada's loss, our gain.

Thanx, oladub. I ended up watching a few of the the videos. The comments section @ the end of the clips were an interesting history lesson as well.

I've wanted to post here a long time. It's been at least 25 years since I've had any interest in music. It used to be Kansas City and Roadhouse Blues, and Delta blues. Until an ex- girlfriend stole ALL of my Cd's out of their jackets. 100 + Go to play a cd and WHAT!

More power to you, nowadays I listen to NPR podcasts that I can download to a digital micro SD. 20-30 hours at a time. And with a $12 digital radio with free shipping.

Warning - dance in your cars, and I WILL point you out to the police.

Oh yes! One of Madonna's best songs IMO, really showcases her once wide vocal range, before she became whatever she is [[or chooses to incarnate) now...

Here's another great one [[not often heard - I learned of it from the film The Corruptor):

    Candy Perfume Girl

I've always been a closet Madonna fan. I think her music is well composed, and she does have great talent. Though I've moved on since my dancing days, I still own a handful of her CDs and enjoy them on occasion. The booty shakes a lot easier these days then way back when.
