    No students participated in a march from Chadsey High School this morning, after a community action group urged them to cut class to protest the closing of 23 schools across Detroit.

    Detroit -- About 60 students from Chadsey High School in southwest Detroit skipped classes Friday to participate in an immigrants' rights rally and to protest the planned closure of their school in the fall, some students said.

    It's easily explained. The people streaming out of the building weren't Chadsey students at all. They were just visitors.

    Note the "some students said" caveat in the DetNews story. I work in a high school, and you can get "some students" to say anything.

    Anyone consider whether the students might be skipping anyway? Maybe it was lunchtime.
