Ever hear of reconciliation and cloture?

There are ways around a filibuster. Also, in this throw the bums out environment, I don't think a filibuster would bode well for the party doing it. If republicans do so much filbustering, please name the bills that have been filibustered by them. For extra credit, why didn't the health care reform bill get filbustered?

You need to start getting your news from less biased sources so you can understand the options and arguments of all parties involved. Not an ideal source, but its good for understanding terms and mechanisms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filibus...he_U.S._Senate

It's beginning to look like the media is giving the "any clown but the one in office" crowd the bullhorn. No one else seems to be able to get any air. Yet the oh-so-vocal and reported upon Tea Party is said to represent only a quarter of Americans.

It also looks to me like "The more clownish the replacement the better" is the rule of the day. Cf, cross purposed campaign statements by Sharron Angle, strange assertions by Huckabee, and misrepresentations by O'Donnell to name a few extreme clownish characteristics.

If this is all really anti-Obama backlash [[We-couldn't-really-have-elected-an-African-Muslim-to-be-president, so-we-need-to-take-back-OUR-country), then the rest of us really need to get off our collective duffs and get out the reasonable American vote.

What you mean is the formerly conservative leaning Annenburg Foundation. While the founder of the foundation was indeed a conservative, the Annenburg Foundation has moved on and it's projects, as we now know included the working collaboration between Obama and former bomber for change William Ayers. Perhaps to you that is conservative leaning but it appears left leaning to me.

Okay, that was funny. It reminds me of Tommy Flanagan. I like the part where the little girl says "I've been to prison." LOL!

It looks like it's going to be a series so I put it at the top of my favorites

    "....
Capt. T.P. Johnson of Flint Police, who oversaw the homicide unit at the time of the McIntosh killing, said the case was investigated thoroughly.
'All the evidence that we were able to procure ... pointed to Horatio Brown, 'Johnson said. 'He was the shooter.'
It's true that at his sentencing Brown claimed someone else was the shooter, but that was after he admitted to committing the killing himself, Johnson said.
He said he empathizes with the family, but 'I don't know any better way this could have been investigated or any rock that hasn't been turned over...'"

Okay, this isn't strictly a lie because there's some wiggle room in the details but it is biased in a curiously conspicuous way.

In today's Detroit News there's a story titled Poll: Dems defect to GOP. Okay. No surprise there. We've all heard similar stories elsewhere.

Buried at the end of the article are some actual figures:
8 percent [of Obama voters] plan to back the Republican....

9 percent [of McCain voters] plan to get behind Democrats....
So the article itself gives evidence that its title, although true, would have been equally or slightly more consistent with the facts had it said the exact opposite: "Poll: Repubs defect to Dems."

LOL! I guess that's why they call them "the funny papers."

The same 25% that think Obama isn't an American? oh -- the 25% that actually think Sarah Palin is intelligent? That think they are in a grass-roots movement even though it is funded almost entirely by radical right-wing corporations and "think tanks"? The same 25% who fall into the "some of the people all of the time" part of the "you can fool..." saying?

TV ad uses altered photo to blast U.S. Rep. Schauer
A television ad blasts U.S. Rep Mark Schauer, D-Battle Creek, by linking him to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the federal stimulus plan and the health care reform bill. The final seconds of the ad feature a photograph that the Michigan Messenger last week reported was doctored: The image shows Schauer standing next to Pelosi as if they are arm in arm....

The original photo was shot June 10, on the balcony of the speaker's office in Washington, according to Pelosi's staff. Four people who posed with the two lawmakers appear to have been removed: two Michigan State University students who won the 2010 National Debate Tournament last year, their debate coach and debate director....

"The fact that Tim Walberg feels comfortable disrespecting MSU students is disappointing and, frankly, should be beneath a former member of Congress," said spokesman Zack Pohl....
I still don't see why people risk getting caught doing these things. I can't believe they can't find one legitimate photograph that does the job just as well.

I would guess that at least half of the political TV ads I've seen this season, from both parties, have included altered photos. The Abq Journal even ran a story about them.

Sharon Angle getting really ugly. Does she consider herself a christian?

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/1..._n_773008.html
"...Sharron Angle's latest attack against Senate opponent Harry Reid features a group of white graduates celebrating and posing for pictures, presumably leaving high school for higher education.
That image is followed by a photo of three scowling Hispanic men, whom the ad suggests are trying to seize preferred college tuition rates from the students. A banner proclaiming the men "illegal aliens" accompanies the photo..."

maxx, One of my neighbors hired two Russian students as farm hands. After the second time the DNR caught them poaching, they moved off in the middle of the night. I would have to guess that they were also having some sort of visa problems. If the ad had pictures of Russian farmhands scowling instead of Hispanics, would Sharon Angle, in your mind, still be a bad Christian for suggesting that State finite taxpayer subsidies be for citizens rather than illegal Russkies?

If there was ever a lawsuit against this group, and there was full discovery of emails, phone logs, and testimony under oath or in depositions, the whole game would be up and they'd be completely exposed for what they are. Which is: a criminal enterprise, in the sense that they are, in my view... violating the tax code...501[[c)[[3) and it may not participate in any campaign activity for or against political candidates...
MoveOn is another left wing propaganda group funded by george soros et al.
The only time they will criticize a democrat is when they don't go far left.

I'm just tired of Obama and Pelosi with their constant blame Bush attitude. If they were all that smart they would be able to pass bill and law that can help this country. They have the majority so that shouldn't be a problem.

    Really?

If you are a true independent- great.

Otherwise, your posts seem to lean toward all is good when cons control the government and all is bad when someone who dares to lean center/moderate, and controls any of the two chambers, let alone the White House. Then you come out, praising all the faux cons[[like George W) who masquerade as[[conservative) Republicans, and drink the kool-aid that FoxNews serves you on a nightly basis.

This belongs here too: Mock The Dummy.

There are several amusing recurring themes throughout these videoslike the one where the dummy goes all shifty-eyed whenever the radical-infiltrators-with-whom-we-are-not-affiliated indiscreetly demands some horrifically violent political act.

It makes the whole scam transparent.

Move on org is a George Soros Socialist propaganda outlet to ruin the US capitlist system.
All true, even though many people don't like to hear the truth.
