This weekend Baker's is celebrating its 75th birthday. Tomorrow, trumpeter Johnny Trudell will play. Trudell is an original Motown musician, leads a big band, and has a great sound. He'll be at Baker's with a small group.
Monday, one of the areas best kept secrets will play - the pianist Claude Black, solid bebop guy, with Will Austin on the doghouse, not sure who's on tubs.

Tonight the Dan Cray Trio will play. I encourage everybody to join us. Baker's is one of the oldest jazz clubs in the world - the Village Vanguard is about as old.
