Default US Military approves burning Bibles

Why do we care what the military thinks about some nut job in Florida burning a Quran if they don't have any problem with burning Bibles?

Why do we care what the military thinks ...
you don't have to, that is your right, just as it is their right to express their opinion. Unless you are in favor of squashing the ability for volunteer soldiers to speak their minds.

From inference, your post hints that soldiers should sit-down and shut-up if they don't agree with your enlightened vision of what is right and wrong. I believe soldiers have a conflicting opinion, and since the burning of the q'ran might put them in harm's way, I believe their opinion is more informed.

therefore, you are less informed on this issue, and in common parlance, an asshat.

They were burning them as a clean up of unused goods, not as a religious protest. So, the problem is ..... What IS the problem?

There is a problem with churches sending such, expecting the US presence to be used to convert people to a Biblical religion. If the Jesuits had minded their own business here, we would be in a lot better shape, having been able to maintain our own world view rather than being forced into one where we were regarded as inferior.

Who cares if bibles or korans are being burned?
...besides Al Gore, the smoke is a pollutant and may contribute to Global Warming.
These burners should look into purchasing some carbon offsets....

The same way burning oil is carbon neutral? After all, the carbon didn't start out as part of oil molecules.

ah, but it hasn't removed carbon from the atmosphere for hundreds of millions of years, whereas the book did fairly recently

It sounds like a good idea until one looks at how the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem has had so many squabbles between the Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Maronite Catholics, etc. which each claim their little niche in the church. Lots of petty arguments happen there all the time.... so multi-faith sounds great in principle... but the proverbial devil is in the details!

Indignities contrived cheapen genuine indignity. There are far more genuine indignities than this.

"Boy" is right. As the story says, the military was trying to protect themselves by burning the Bibles. Your logic is second grade logic.
