    Default Detroit Railroading Whereisit

Trying to figure out the location of this photo of a Conrail switcher:

My first thought was down on the line that was down on Wight Street near Iron and Mt. Elliot, but the background and street pavement isn't correct. Any ideas?

It looks like Atwater near McDougal. That area, anyway.

I agree. That Conrail engine is traveling on Atwater. Some of that track may still be
    visible.

Could be Guoin Street between Chene and Campau. They covered up the tracks a few years ago.

I found a similar building on Wight, east of Adair, on Google Maps:

    3258 Wight St Detroit Mi

Look east. The fire hydrant doesn't line up, but the windows, doors and parapet match. The track that came down from Beaufait and curved onto Wight appears to have made the jig-jog at Mt. Elliot and continued east on Wight. Maybe someone with an old street map could help.
