    Default The New Pagasus

I went to the new Pegasus restaurant today on Jefferson in St Clair Shores and thought that it was excellent. Just like the one downtown.

It was pretty full but we had no wait. There were only three open tables when we walked in and they were filled within 2 minutes. It was 2:30 pm on a Sunday when we got there.

I have been a little disappointed in Pegasus [[downtown) the last couple times I was there. My food was clearly just reheated and luke warm. I think the built in Casino crowd has made them lax in their quality as compared to the Trapper's Alley days.

Is the menu the same as Greektown, with the Greek specialties and do they have a liquor license.

I usually enjoy the downtown location but the last time the food wasn't great and the service was ridiculous. Our waitress would come out and check on her other three tables, and cruise past our table while our drinks were empty [[probably did it about four or five times until she stopped by when we were done with our meal). It seemed she went out of her way to not serve us. I guess my girlfriend and I didn't look either rich enough or old enough which is a shame for her because I worked in the restaurant business so I tend to tip pretty well when the service is good. But it pissed me off enough not to come back to the downtown location or even try out the new location for a while. I will say, though, that I have been there many times before without a problem and food and service is usually good.

I do know the last time we went in there, they weren't accepting casino comps anymore and hadn't for a while.

I used to love the Trappers Alley feel of GT before the casino....

Since then the quality had gone down and I was just annoyed with the rush-rush [[people waiting to get your table feel) of the whole Greek town scene overall. I just switched to middle-eastern foods elsewhere which have some related dishes..... without all the rush and bad service that Greek town adopted when the casinos came. I look forward to trying out the new Pegusus...
