I read an article in The Collectors News referring to an event for this club on Saturday, Aug. 14, but I can't find anything on the web to verify it so I hesitate to give details until someone can verify. The article says the event will start at Foran's Grand Pub [[where there's apparently a huge Vernors sign), then move across the street to the Guardian Building to see the Vernor's gnome sign that was on the Woodward plant.
Foran's will be serving Boston Coolers and memorabilia will be for sale by collectors. Also will show a 1954 newsreel of the closing of the plant at the foot of Woodward.
The Vernors Collectors Club website doesn't mention it at all. Nothing on Google.
