Happy Cream "was" located on Monroe Street [[near Campus Martius) - across from Compuware. Who knows, maybe they just moved to a new location...

Judging by the sign on the door, I'd say they haven't moved.

Eviction notices means they didn't move by choice.

Hmm, is that Ben & Gerrys [[sp?) ice cream still down there?

I like how they left the "questions" phone number line blank. Very helpful.

    Sorry for your loss, DetroitPetanque.

I tried to get ice cream there last week with a co-worker, and found the whole store in a dumpster out front. I liked that place too, and it was far less expensive than Ben & Jerry's. Rivard plaza is the only other game in town now for an ice cream cone.

    ??
That's a parking lot. Next thing on Monroe is the National theatre.

    Edit:
It's the direct neighbor of the National.

And what an incredible UGLY building it is!!

It's actually a parking structure with some storefronts in it. And yes, it is extremely ugly. The ice cream was its redeeming quality.

    Sad Christmas.
Can't say I'm surprised. Whenever I went in there, I was always the only customer [[well, me and whomever I went in there with).

True, they did not appear to be very busy.

Too bad. My father loses one of his favorite downtown post-lunch stops. They were nice folks trying hard. Detroit is extremely tough on small retail.

Does Astoria Pastry Shop still sell ice cream? I also think there will be/is/was a ColdStone in Greektown...

Astoria still sells great ice cream. Whenever we get ice cream and walk around Downtown, we always get repeatedly asked where we purchased it, making me believe that Downtown ice cream places could literally go out and pull customers off the street. Astoria and others may not need to do that, but Happy Cream apparently did.

    Astoria - Greektown
    Coldstone - Greektown
    Bonbon's - Wintergarden
Ben and Jerry's - Campus Martius

    Any place else?
