According to a map in todays WSJ, on 4/8/2024 a solar eclipse will pass directly over the Detroit area [[Downriver looks to be the exact center). The only other US one shown will be as close as central Illinois on 8/21/2017.

The map shows the epicenter of the eclipse, with tracking lines much like a satellite or space ship circling over the earth.

Assuming the Mayan calendar which ends on 12/21/12 is not the end of times....I will be here to watch it.

By the way, when the heck will the moon be in the seventh hour, and Jupiter align with Mars? Our planet needs some peaceful guidance.

YAY! Detroit will get a cosmic bath. The last cosmic bath for Southeast Michigan was in mid 1990s durign a Annular Eclipse.
