Junction & Plumer bars

Can anyone recommend some bars in the Plumer & Junction area of southwest Detroit? I'm looking for someplace interesting to stop at for a drink with some friends? Any good restaurants in the area?

The El Barzon on Junction, just south of Michigan Ave is about
the only restaurant,[[except Dulys) where you can sit and have a drink and very good food - combination of Italian and Mexican - and all the restaurants in Mexican town. Most of the bars in that area have been torn down - you could go west of Junction and snoop around, but those are "rough" as well
as all of the old watering holes on Vernor.

Abick's, at the corner of Gilbert and I believe Dennis a block west of Livernois, isn't too far away. Very nice plain old neighborhood bar run by wonderful people.
