DetroitYES Moving [We're Ba-aack]

UPDATE: Back online as of 2:15 AM Monday. Enjoy!

Dear all,
We will be moving the DetroitYES website and forum to our new bigger faster dedicated server on Sunday morning.

Starting sometime in the early morning and for about 12 but up to 24 hours the forum will be disabled.

You will see the following message during the downtime.

"We're sorry, we need to disable the DetroitYES forum for a few hours while we move it to a new server.

We anticipate that we will back online between [times will be listed]"

The shutdown is required while the new server location updates in the internet address database and we move the forum database.

Once re-enabled the web addresses and your accounts will all remain the same. The process should be transparent to you other than the shut down period.

No Douglasm, SDF move is coming later. We will also be migrating them to vBulletin forum at that time. Hopefully it will not create too much of a flap.

.....I am assuming that DetroitYes uses the vBullitin forum. I don't know if it's just the fact that I'm getting old and set in my ways, but I feel that the old forum [[and SDF as it currently is constituted) are/were easier to work with than this new forum style. Doesn't mean I'll stop posting, though.....

Once we get the server switch-over behind us we will upgrade to version 4, supposedly easier. vBulletin is far more stable [SDF Discusware crashes and/or corrupts, sometime taking the server down]. vBulletin is far far easier on the management side as well. Nothing's perfect.
