Stolen Comedy masks from Eastown roof ?

dETROITfUNK exclusive - all four Comedy masks are now gone from the roof of the Eastown Theater.

Ive been watching these things carefully, and each has disappeared during the last 14 months. The last one vanished within the last few weeks.

Lee Plaza lions revisited ?

If the owner was the one doing the harvesting, wouldn't they take them all at once ?

And given the fact that the city Housing Commission has somehow misplaced all of the recovered lion heads from the Lee, I can't imagine going after the Eastown thieves will be high on the county prosecutor and FBI's list of priorities like last time.

you sure they didn't just fall off, maybe backwards into the building? as far as salvageable architechtural detail, they are kinda useless without the bottom 1/4 detail..... i would guess quite worthless too.... doubt it was the owner, i would guess the owner would remove the entire detail and not just the top....

yeah; seriously - 50 giant holes to walk through on the apartment side. It is still wide open. They tacked wood over the theater holes a while back, but they are torn through again.

Here are photos taken of the roof at the point where the Comedy sculptures were removed. Certainly appears to have been theft.

Anything not nailed down of any resemblance of value is stripped and removed as of late. Here's a link from a site reference a rehab that was once considered... too late now of course....
