This sounds like a lot of fun!

323East celebrates its second anniversary with a weekend of live art, a group exhibition and Bar-B-Q. Kobie Solomon will curate the mural and exhibition which will highlight the theme of his recently published book, “My First Graffiti Coloring Book”.

Curator Statement
by Kobie Solomon

Few would argue the fact that audience interpretation and interaction is as integral to the creative process as execution. Without an audience, an artist is left with only a one-sided view of his/her art, and nobody to share their vision and experience. In the interest of preserving the vitality of this interaction between creator and viewer, 323East is bringing a truly unique event to downtown Royal Oak on June 11th 2010.

With My First Graffiti Coloring Book, Kobie Solomon has expanded on this interaction by presenting the public with a 26-page playground meant to inspire, entertain and educate. In a celebration of the book’s release, 323East has teamed up with ©POP to bring forth a feast of sights and sounds for all ages to enjoy. For 3 days straight, 26 artists will display their interpretation of each page of the book, while the outside, 323East Gallery will once again be transformed by local street artists in full public view with an amazing multi artist 72 hour mural.

We invite you to join us on this special occasion to witness further evidence that artists the world over are falling prey the intoxicating beauty of the graffiti letter.
