    Default Highland Park's McGregor Library

I meant to post this when I first saw the article, I was suprised no one else did.

The article is about how city officials are trying very hard to have McGregor turned into a state-of-the-art library. Fund raising is to begin this summer.

    That would be GREAT!

McGregor Library is such a beautiful building and it's depressing driving by such a beauty when it's boarded up and abandoned.

I really hope this comes to pass and isn't forgotten about 4 or 5 months from now...

Fingers crossed! That would be absolutely wonderful, and while my neighborhood in Hamtramck is served by Hamtown Public and a two-blocks-from-the-border branch of Detroit Public, I would sooooo be there. A forward-thinking, tech-friendly big ol' community library space could really be useful in HP.

Hopefully they'd hire some staff from just outside their borders, too.... :P

When did they put that fancy fence around it.
Before you could look into the building thru a few windows.
