Belle Isle closing time

Are they still closing the island off at 10pm, or is it open all night again?

I was told by the friends of Belle Isle that the island closes at ten in the summer, but the B.I. Administrative Office stated that the island "never closes" and that most people leave "when it gets dark". I called because i wanted to know if the giant slide will be open this year and was told that they are currently seeking sponsors.

I live on Field St. between Vernor and Charlevoix in Islandview. I'm regularly seeing police officers with barricades and lights from about 10pm-1am. Once they leave the barricades are there blocking the entrance to the Island.

Wait until DPS Senior Skip Day - they will close the island by 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
