Great, I can be there right around 11:45? How does that work? Thanks Roq! If you know what time you plan to arrive, I can set it up so that I'm at Grand Blvd and East Jeff right at that time. Plus I'll let you know how to recognize me [[well, I can do that now - Italian guy waiting at a bus stop at Grand Blvd and East Jeff )
At least myself +1! Possibly one or two more in addition to myself +1. Thank you so much!
I believe the Child and I will be able to make it!! Dish to be announced at later date
Thanks to all who have responded so far. The numbers are looking good!!
About a week before the picnic, I will tally up the numbers and the dishes and post a list so that others can fill in the gaps and decide what to bring.
Hey there Kathleen,
As the picnic gets closer I am getting very excited about meeting the folks from DetroitYes! A couple of my daughters are coming and my grandchildren, too. I will be watching the thread to see what we should bring.
Kathleen, it is a nice thing you are doing. Don't know if I will be there for the duration yet but guarantee I'll drop off a dish. Post who is bringing what and I'll help fill in the blanks.
We came last year and had a great time.
Wife and I are in for sure!
It would be good to attend, and finally put some faces together with usernames. I suspect that I have met a few of the good DYES people. Kathleen, we met once and I have talked with Dave often, in the past.
I'll raise a mug of Molson's toward the south/southwest from Ipperwash Beach, at 3:00PM, from where we spend our traditional Memorial Day weekend.
kathleen - i'd like to attend. count me, mrs. thecarl, and our two daughters, please. i'd like to bring some fresh homemade brats - i make them the size of breakfast links, and they're amazing! thanks!
Hey BobL!! Sorry you can't make it. One of these days I would like to catch up with you!!
TheCarl: Two little girls?? I remember meeting you and your wife at our gathering when you were expecting your first. Hope it works out and you can join us.
Woo-hoo!! This year's picnic is shaping up very nicely. I'm encouraged by the numbers and the new faces.
Look for my post early in the week on the numbers and the dishes so that you can sign up to bring a dish, etc.
Kathleen:
I will be bringing ground beef for burgers and hamburger buns, some pasta salad and the sand pail pudding.
Will also bring a table and our two chairs. Then I will watch the list for other necessities we can cover.
Maybe I will come or perhaps I should not show my face. LOL!
Zacha341... I've been to several of these... and although you might meet someone you haven't agreed with online... putting a face to the folks who post here... is rather beneficial.... except for Gnome...
Just kiddin.... Blueidone's Sand Pail Pudding is worth the visit alone!!
essen Sie Scheisse mein Freund, der Zwerg hat gesprochen
yes, kathleen! our four-year-old [[the erstwhile bump!) maya, and out daughter olivia, born in september. they have brought me nothing but joy [apart from the obligatory occasional sleep deprivation!] easy-going, inquisitive, cheerful kids! i got lucky.
looking forward to reconnecting - and sharing my brats!
Thanks for the terrific response. So far, it looks like we might have about 50 people at the picnic, maybe more!!
If you weren't sure how many people you are bringing, let us know the current number. If something came up and you can't make it, please let us know. Any of you lurkers who have been procrastinating....let's hear from you!! [[I want to be sure I've got enough supplies on hand, without buying enough for an army who doesn't show up!!!)

Sure, a100! Don't be shy...I missed the first one after signing up because I was too shy to introduce myself...and I'm sorry that I missed it! Last year was a BLAST! Just follow Kathleen's instructions and we will see you there!
Hi, a100driver! This is a DetroitYES picnic, not my personal picnic, so of course you are welcome to join us. Let us know if you are coming solo, etc.
I myself am looking forward to meeting a number of folks in person for the first time!! It's gonna be a good time!!!
sure, come on by, most of us don't bite, ...gistok excluded of course
My husband is reffing a soccer tournament, but our family of five will be there. Not sure what we're bringing yet. We're looking forward to it and to seeing everyone!
Aua das tut weh
I would love to attend, but have to see if the time works out for me, holidays are crazy with things going on in Detroit. Especially in summer. Despite the people that claim that there is nothing to do here.
If attending I will bring some items along, I always do. I would love to meet some of the people in person and to date have not been able to attend any of the social events due to scheduling conflicts.
