Anything for my Maw, although can I get a reminder call the day before? I foresee my puter being in the shop and me forgetting the picnic altogether.

Ill try and bring the artichoke dip.

I met the ghettoman many times one time. He was being chased by a pack of one ghettodogs, old Detroit Pictures under his arm. It was an honor to have met him, I hope he can make it.

I plan to be there, probably with one or two others. I'm happy to purchase whatever is needed at the last minute - perhaps ice? It will be my first picnic in 7 years on the forum, so I am really looking forward to it!

Yes...you heard correctly, Cub...I will bring a large supply. As word spreads of this delightful dessert, each time I make it more and more is required. Soon I will need a refrigerated truck to transport it all! hehehehe!!

    Hi Kathleen,
I am going to try to come. We love Belle Isle. Is the picnic near the aquarium?

Johnnie Sue: We'd love to have you!! The picnic site is west of the Aquarium over near the Shadyside picnic shelter on Muse Rd. The Casino and Flynn Skating Pavilion are to our immediate West and South respectively.

I'll bring fruit salad and a vegetable tray, probably also grab some juice & pop.

If anyone has any preferences to kind of pop, let me know and I'll make sure I grab a liter.

Can't make it due to relocating to a different, rather soulless, part of the country. If you haven't been, please go...these picnics are great fun!

The Prof has not yet attended such an event, and truly would like to be there, but needs an assist. You see, your old Prof is a bus rider, and DDOT no longer has buses going onto Belle Isle. He could get as far as Jeff & E Grand, but would need an assist from there [[it is rather a long walk).

If anyone might be able to help me with the "last mile", respond here, thanks.

Thanks Roq! If you know what time you plan to arrive, I can set it up so that I'm at Grand Blvd and East Jeff right at that time. Plus I'll let you know how to recognize me [[well, I can do that now - Italian guy waiting at a bus stop at Grand Blvd and East Jeff )
