Default St. Albertus Clean-up day May 15

St. Albertus' next cleanup day is May 15. It is Detroit's oldest Polish church and was built in the 1880's. Although it closed around 1989, a non-profit organization consisting of all volunteers currently maintains the church and the rectory. The cleanup day is fun, you can choose to do outside work or cleaning inside the church, or repair work whatever your inclination is. If you have not seen the church, it is quite beautiful and as large as Sweetest Heart of Mary, which is about 1/2 mile to the west on Canfield.

Just a reminder to anyone that might be interested in helping at a cleanup day NEXT Saturday at St. Albertus. It's usually a good day and you leave with a great sense of feeling like you have done something positive to help a beautiful old complex.
