Default The most surreal abandoned place I ever visited.

By special admission I was allowed to see this place in 2001. Strictly speaking it's not completely abandoned but since the owner of the palace died in 1908 no one has lived there and there's no funtion for this palace. I was not allowed to take pictures there but this period picture of the main dining hall really does not differ that much from what I saw. The complete interior was still there, including that massive talbe!

Not quite abandoned anymore, it seems.

Seems they've dusted off a lot of features. Back when I was there the drapes were torn apart due to gravity. The gold weaved onto the fabric took it down. Some beds were still made. I've actually seen the sleeping quarters where King Geoge V of England slept in 1903. There was a snooker billiart table, made in Newcastle, on which you still could play once the dust cover was removed.
As it was the tour I got, along with five other hotel guests, was very exclusive back then. It seems now they've turned it into a tourist attraction. Maybe not a wise destination for Americans. Half of the population in the city of Hyderabad is Islamic and there has been a bomb attack on the Char Minar Mosque last year. [[Eight people dead...)

Most abandon place I ever was was back in the 70's there was an area off telegraph somewhere below 12 mile that was a huge subdivision that was emptied out for some upcoming project. Being a teen seeing at least 100 homes in a neighborhood , all open and abandon, it was VERY COOL........ like the end of the earth, I used to spend hours out there
