Hey! Let's all move to North Korea or Iran. Then we can skip all this political debate bullshit, and get on with our lives.

Hey Bush Mark. I heard that Bernie Sanders is a Democratic Socialist? That's an oxymoron isn't it? You know, like military intelligence.

Hey anybody! I've got some brand-new rock 'n roll music songs that I recorded here in my little Dirtclod Music Productions studio. Pretty soon I'll put them up on YouTube so you can give a listen. Stay tuned. There's still a lot of Garwood/Stonefront kick-ass stuff going on in this old man's life, and I love it.

No Larry, it isn't. And if you don't vote for him in the primary, I swear to god that I'll drive out to L.A. and slap your ass up. And I'm saying that as a friend.

Just doing my part to help the campaign and be a nice person.

    Fuck Bernie Sanders.

Hoover sent me this photo today. He's over in Amsterdam, and he's stoned.

Yeah, I got that email today too. And he's probably going to vote for Trump or Nixon.

From a cross thread here earlier today.

    And some punk rockers:

From the Vets for Bernie site you posted.

No one has had our backs like Bernie. No one. When you look at the candidates for President and Commander-in-Chief, he is the only one who has consistently stood up and said, “If you can’t afford to take care of Veterans, then don’t go to war.”

I'm not sure why Bernie said that, because there has never, ever been a shortage of money in the VA. There is, though, a serious shortage of people that know what to do with that money, and if you'll check it out you'll find that Mr. Sanders is not the only one in Congress with that attitude. Congress now has several combat veterans in its ranks, and I can guarantee you that every single one of them has pushed for increasing benefits to veterans on all levels. There are many others that have done the same, so Bernie can't lay claim to the fact that he's the only veterans savior in Congress. He just screams louder about it, and I guess that's a good thing.

But how many people in congress have that attitude and are running for president. Larry, come to Wisconsin and visit the Tomah V.A. Even the Madison V.A. and tell me that vets are receiving the treatment they deserve. They aren't. I've spent time at both facilities, visiting people, and that's only two in the country, and they are horribly sub standard compared to other hospitals.

I could go on and on Larry. I realize you're a vet, and I'm not, but I have a lot of friends that are and aren't receiving the services they should. That's my take on it, right or wrong. I guess I just happen to feel bad about several people that I know, that are being denied treatment, without just cause.

And now, like Gleeman once said, we shouldn't talk politics on this thread. I suppose he was right.

  14. #10564

No. Gleeman was wrong. I can't dispute your findings, but that has nothing to do with what Bernie Sanders is doing. There are a total of 80 veterans in this current Congress. 12 of them are Democrats; the rest have more sense than that, but they all want things to get better. And like I said before; it's not a question of money. It's finding the right people that know how to spend that money, and that would include hiring the best doctors and nurses and upgrading facilities and all the other things that go along with operating a modern hospital. Personally I am much more concerned with homeless veterans. I am glad to see that there are some major advances in programs to help the homeless vets, and it's great that Bernie is bringing this thing to the forefront. But let's face it Mark. John Q. Public really isn't all that concerned about homeless veterans when you come right down to the meat and potatoes of it all. And he's not really all that shook up about some of the deficiencies in the VA hospitals. All he wants is a fat paycheck an easy job. Well Mr. Obama went one step farther and gave them a fat paycheck, but they don't have to work. There are myriads of other things to piss and moan about, so I'm just going to go get me some Häagen-Dazs and call it a night.

This is one of my favorite fotos. In fact Neil happened to call me from the top floor of the Cripple Creek casino garage tonight. One of the few places he can talk cellular from where he lives in the mountains. He's doing well. No longer in Detroit, but his father worked welding the Ambassador Bridge and then Neil ran the welding shop until he retired.

Neil, who lived in the organ pipe decks and always had a smile on his face, even if you hit a few of the keys in the middle of the night for a joke. I saw some people do it several times.

    Nice diversion B-man.

Yeah, that was a while after they dropped out of deep sea diving school. We all got kicked/escorted out of the bay area around 69-70. We went up to Bolinas to live on the beach for a few weeks.

Observations from a tree stump in Whiskey Flats

I seem to be spending a whole lot of time looking for things that I put in special places so it would be easy to remember where they are. I wonder if I'm starting a trend.
