Default Calling all the building hunters!

There is a series of Detroit Civil Defense Photo's on Ebay.
I want to say a few of these are over by canfield st, but i've been wrong before.
Some are at Roosevelt School [[AKA central High)
So I'm asking all the old building wizards for some help

All photo's are supposed to be 1954-55

the 4th picture has st. joseph in the background, locating it somewhere near lafayette park

The third image from the bottom has a Stroh's Beer sign in it and there may be a smokestack with Goebel on it. I agree with the previous responder about somewhere near the Lafayette towers area. I didn't pick up on the steeple of St. Joseph church.

For some reason it has the appearance of a massive effort to rescue and feed the homeless.

this appears to be taken from the site of the Pavilion apartments on Rivard Street...this is probably taken around the time that the area was cleared for the Lafayette Park redevelopment.

These have to be taken during the Lafayette Park redevelopment...this would be the only large expanse of vacant land in the city...houses gone, alleys, trees, street lights intact, etc.

    Definitely.

    1. Braun Brothers was at 1486 Chestnut, southwest corner of Riopelle.
    3. Central High
    4. Leland School on Antietam [[Madison) closest to the camera, Capron School at Maple & Riopelle farther back, and St Joesph in the distance.
    7. Goebel Brewery was at the corner of Rivard & Maple, with Stroh Brewery behind it to the north.

    5. Can also see the edge of the Stroh Brewery on the right side.
    6. Looking west with the Lafayette Clinic in the background.
