    Default Detroit's African Bead Museum

I finally got the chance to visit Detroit's African Bead Museum a few weeks ago, and the art was incredible! The "museum" actually consists of two brightly adorned buildings covered in broken mirrors, beads, and found art objects. There's also a sculpture exhibit, a community garden, a stage for concerts, and a small shop where the artist, Dabl, sells African beads and jewelry.

If you've never seen it, I highly recommend it. Here are some photos to convince you:

And here's a map to the site [[6559 Grand River, Detroit, MI 48208):

Cooper! Thanks for the tip. Have noticed this site while driving Grand River but have not yet stopped to check it out.

Also enjoyed your other posts on Detroit's street art....and Kevin's comment. I saw some new Dequindre Cut art on Saturday morning as I was tooling around the city enjoying the glorious sunny day!!

I learned about the Bead Museum here on DetroitYes last year. Thank you DetroitYes!. And I have taken my wife back there a couple times. Last year, hDabble had Reggae concerts on that stage on Saturday night all summer. The place exudes a calm and makes you feel creative just walking around there.

Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that. Detroit Blog always gets the story first.
