the fact remains that the 28th amendment is bullshit and it's people like you, Papasito, spreading it around
Sorry, hun, but I didn't hear about any of that nonsense until I saw this thread.
So... your theory of "me spreading it around" .... you fail
Jeez, have a coke and a smile, don't be so angry

She said "people like you". Do you deny posting a lot of false things?

Wealthy people do get better everything in life. That's never going to change in a capitalistic society. The difference now is that the non-wealthy can get some coverage, which is better than the nothing they're getting now.

[We talk about everyone getting "health insurance" like its the end all/fix all,
but everyone seems to be forgetting that HMO's are crap and the coverage is crap
Single-payer would be the fix-all, but that was never going to pass because it's too drastic and the insurance industry is too powerful. The insurers pledged last year to cooperate with reform because they knew it was coming, then they pulled out every dollar and dirty trick available to them to fight it. Remember the astroturf rallies and the angry mobs at the town halls?
This is a step in the right direction by addressing some of the crap the HMOs were getting away with, like dropping patients when they get sick and denying coverage for pre-existing conditions. In return, they get more customers - the people who had no coverage before because of the cost or because they got dropped.
There's nobody out there who thinks the bill is perfect. There are too many conflicting interests to come up with anything that would satisfy everyone, so they compromised. For every sane person calling for single-payer, there's an insurance lobbyist arguing about all the jobs that would be lost and a free-marketeer screaming about socialism. Politics is all about deal-making, and we got what we got.

How much are you willing to bet? I was 5 when Castro took over Cuba.
