An armed man took a young child with him on a Radio Shack robbery in Monroe Friday, police said.

At 9:50 a.m., the man, believed to be around 30 years old, entered a Radio Shack store on North Telegraph Road with a 7- to 8-year-old boy. The man pulled out a handgun and robbed the cash register, Monroe Police said.

A Michigan State Police K-9 tracked him to a nearby apartment complex before losing the track.

The adult was described, as 6-foot-2 and 250 pounds. He had a goatee, short cropped hair and a cross-shaped tattoo on the right side of his neck.

He was last seen wearing dark pants and a dark two-tone blue polo shirt.

The boy had short hair and was wearing a blue Adidas jacket.

Anyone who may have seen anything or has any information is asked to call Monroe Police at 734-243-7519.
