McGregor Elementary - 1979

Back in 1979 [[or '78), the McGregor elementary school winter play was filmed for TV, by PBS, I believe. McGregor was on the far northeast side of Detroit [[now closed).

I was in the play and have looked for years to find the video of that play. This was back before VCR's so I don't know if the video even exists anymore.

I have searched the web every which way I can think of to try and find this. I'm hoping someone has an old home movie of it.

If anyone can help in locating a copy I would be most grateful. I've been amazed at what this Forum comes up with, so figured wouldn't hurt to ask.

Interesting, I attended McGregor during this time and have no recollection of PBS taping any of our programs, which teacher sponsored it?

It was the Christmas Play. I don't remember the teacher that handled it.

The taping was done as an actual TV taping. They had us do the play specifically for them to tape it. We would do our scene and they would film it at different angles, etc.

We then put on the play as normal for the parents and other students. So they didn't film the actual performance of the play but filmed it earlier. I don't remember if filming was the same day or a different day.
