    That IS cool! We used to live at the point where Whitefish Bay let into the St. Mary's River, same kind of thing, but from ground level it doesn't look quite like that.

    This explains why on some days driving down Lakeshore Dr. in the Grosse Pointes there is no ice, and on other days there is lots of drifting ice.

    They've been having trouble the last couple of months with ice buildup in the area of Algonac/Harsen's Island - Walpole Island indian reservation in Canada . Today U.S. Coast Guard and Canadian Coast Guard ice breakers were at it again clearing the channel . Shouldn't be too much longer before it all melts
