Default Reputation Doctor Releases Another Missive on Our Felonious EX-Mayor

As you know, former Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is required by law to pay restitution to the City of Detroit based on 30% of his current income, benefits and gifts received. Sadly, we are back in court tomorrow to put an end to the prosecutor's goal to increase his restitution payments based on rumors and innuendo and not facts. We feel confident the facts will speak for themselves tomorrow.

It is ironic these court issue continues to be top news stories in Detroit as the new Mayor gives his State of the City address. Kwame Kilpatrick is the former Mayor and not the current Mayor. External to his court problems, former Mayor Kilpatrick's accomplishments for the City of Detroit speak for themselves, including new hotels, new private and public sector jobs, a new Riverfront, national and local special events in a then vibrant downtown Detroit, new parks and recreation centers, new casinos bringing valuable revenue to the City, cleaner streets and much more!

Why is former Mayor Kilpatrick a scapegoat for all?

I certainly hope that Mike Paul buys his client a new shirt for tomorrow's hearing just to avoid any confusion.

    Pathetic.

I hope they're not paying this shill too much...

Is he any relation to Billy Paul?

There is no question that there is more downtown, but our image is making national headlines, still... and I have long wondered, if there may be more downtown if it weren't for the Pay-to Play atmosphere downtown. Did he, and city council, scare off any developers because they were unwilling to pay the bribes he demanded??

We may never know, but with the city's image battered, and people hesitant to even visit Detroit, do all the benefits of everything he did really outweigh the costs??

    Hmmm...let's see...

    Hotels - Archer
New Private & Public Sector Jobs - Archer & Kilpatrick
    New Riverfront - Archer
National & local sporting events - Archer
    Vibrant Downtown - Archer
New Parks & Recreation Centers - Kilpatrick [[but how many rec ctrs did he also close, including at least one newly renovated one if I'm not mistaken)
    New Casinos - Archer
Cleaner streets - Uh, only Penske can take credit for that one -- and that's just downtown. The rest of the city is so ridiculous I can't believe that he even put that on the list at all.

It's amazing that KK just doesn't get it. No matter how much trouble he gets into, he still doesn't get it. This guy's got legal heat coming down on him 3 different ways and he still doesn't get why we don't love him any more. Unreal...

Jumbo knows why folks don't love him anymore. He's fighting for his life. The shit they're spewing shows they're desperate.

It pisses me off, too. I just keep reminding myself that they need to tell these tall tales.

This sort of stuff pisses me off too. KK keeps on claiming how he still loves the City and yet he just won't get his bloated self out of the spotlight here. If he was truly repentant [[and I don't think he is), he'd accept his punishment like a man- and what he himself agreed to months ago. And maybe if he kept a low profile, did some good with his life as opposed to constantly coming back here and crying victim, people MIGHT forgive him years from now. But as it stands now, he might have been de-frocked but he's still pimping & posing like he owns the place. We can't shed the man and his luggage. Dude can't get it through his inflated egotistical skull that he's a convicted felon. And who he committed this crime against is the City that he supposedly so loves.

I seriously wonder what his kids think of him. Do they question any of this? What does Carlita & Bernard tell them when daddy's got to go back to Detroit for "business"? Anyone want to hazard a guess that they might actually try to come back here years from now and try to ride their daddy's coat tails?

    Default thug KK hearing

He has on his infamous white shirt with the word "Mayor" on the cuff. Still rubbing his status in the noses of Detroiters. Unbelieveable arrogance.

This is indeed very sad, Mr. Paul.

See? He was right about something! You guys are being *way* too judgemental!

This guy's on the stand right now being questioned by the judge as to who hired him and how much he's paid

He says Swartz hired him, refuses to give any information about his fees.
Well spoken man, very respectful of the court...but he's on a losing team.

For some reason I just cant believe that this PR guy does not have a dollar amount specified in his contract. He is being paid by Schwartz but to this point he has only incurred 1 billable dollar. That is a farce and Groner should request more information.

Great Post, but I would only add one thing. The condition of Detroit now - Kwame and Krew

I find it hilarious that someone has a wardrobe with shirts that have mayor on the cuff. Someone in another forum said Bobby Ferguson was in court with his shirt on that said Bobby on the cuff. OMG this stuff is just tooooo funny

Well you are definitely right about this one. Hasn't been paid anything and has only accrued $1.00. And Judge Groner did not believe it for 1 second.

I have to agree with you 100% about him just keeping a low profile, doing his time, paying his money, there probably wouldn't have been so many people outraged at what is going on.
Such a terrible thought about his sons coming back on daddy's coat tails, not like Coleman Young's [[practically unknown) son. I am more concerned with Kwame coming back and running. And Carolyn Cheeks. And John Conyers. And M Cox. And Bull* Cummings. oh good lord this list could go on forever

Consistent arrogance.... he will not change. That would require something in his character he does not have. He is the ultimate bully!

The pr Dr would be wise to make sure his paper work is in order. I loved the put him in his place by Judge Groener.

If Paul's latest missive is any indication of his work, Kwame paid $1.00 too much for his services.
