    Default Downtown Foodland

Had there been anyone interested in purchasing the former Downtown Foodland site? Had there been any chatter pertaining to potential retailers who are interested in the space? I have friends who live in the area. They had said that the area is in need for one.

Maybe the 'demographics' aren't quite right?
The owner of Harbortown Market also owned [[maybe still does) a Sav A Lot grocery in Redford. Seems they could have been the most likely to 'expand' to the old FoodTown site.

I wish a store such as Ye Olde Butchers Shoppe would open in that spot. I had tried to reach the owner of the mall but can't find any information. Tansil was a penny wise and a dollar foolish. He had taken on a task he couldnt afford to handle.Mikes Market would do better there if any market. Family Dollar probably would make it in that spot also. I think the owner of the mall is not bending in what he charge to lease space in that area.

i agree with you that we need a another grocery option...i'm pushing for Aldi's. i also a believe a pet store and an optical store [[americas best) would thrive there. theres a dollar store on mt elliot and soon on jos camp and jeff with a fam dollar also further east on jeff. first commercial is easily reached at the number on the lease sign, ask for david greene.

There was a dollar store a couple of doors down from the closed Foodland. It closed more than a year ago. Econ, I don't see Harbortown expanding there. Too close to their other store.
