From today's Free Press: Michigan-themed Free Press, News ad song 'This Time' on iTunes.It certainly wouldn't be the first time a commercial propelled a song into the public consciousness. But this one is all Michigan.
After airing for several weeks on television and in movie theaters as an ad for the Free Press and Detroit News, "This Time," sung by the Verve Pipe's Brian Vander Ark, is available as an iTunes single.
The commercial features a montage of Detroit-related photos set to the power ballad, which Vander Ark says "could have been a Verve Pipe song."
