Let them go! What a bunch of whining children, just because they lost an election.
Let them go! What a bunch of whining children, just because they lost an election.
Give them Sarah Palin. Let HER be their President!
People we can give to Texas to keep:
Ted Nugent
Sarah Palin
Glen Beck
Bill O'Reilly
Mann Coulter
L. Brooks Patterson.
That was completely daffy. Do you want to try again, and this time make it intelligible?
ORD , I can't believe you forgot the main man . Mr. Texas Ranger himself Chuck Norris , you know he wants to be president of Texas !. If he would institute some socialist policies like free Karate lessons for all residents I might be able to support him.
I guess I just don't think of Chuck Norris, except when he's selling that Nordic Track thingy. You're right, off to the Glorious Republic of Texass for you, Mr. Norris!
TX is one of the few, if not the only red federal tax donor states, so they should obviously continue to fund the many southern red tax recipient states until or if they join, as well as take control over the WOT since many RWers who live there that I have read online, wish to wipe Islam from the face of the earth. They also love their guns, so the new nation of TX could also help Mexico in the fight against the drug lords there that threaten to overrun TX' southern border.
We'll give away Texas, if we take Manitoba. Even trade.
Whirrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Brrrrrrrrrip!
I hope we could keep the panhandle. Nice folks up there around Amarillo and all. Different from the rest of the state.
Austin is also nice, but we could just relocate some of those folks to somewhere nice and compatible like Madison.
They take my above list. We keep Willie Nelson, Lyle Lovett, Kinky Friedman...Oh hell, musicians get free passports to the Free United States.
And we already gave them Kwame.
Eeek. Someone lock the door.
From Wikipedia's Texas v. White:What state would object?... As the [Supreme] Court wrote, "The Constitution, in all its provisions, looks to an indestructible Union, composed of indestructible States." Hence Texas would still be a state even when laws are passed saying it is independent. Such laws would be "absolutely null."
The court did allow some possibility of the divisibility of the Union in the following statement:
The union between Texas and the other States was as complete, as perpetual, and as indissoluble as the union between the original States. There was no place for reconsideration, or revocation, except through revolution, or through consent of the States.
What are you talking about???
The secession of Texas?
empty rhetoric ...fear is a powerful thing..and add hate speech and you get all this ...crazy talk...wake and find the moderation people ...
From ABC News: Pessimism Porn? Economic Forecasts Get Lurid.
Ok, I'm back from pulling my reserve duty so I'll put my two cents' in here. Concerning Rick Perry's "secession" talk, there are a lot of people down here who are finally believing this guy is a nut. He's going to be in a serious primary fight next year against Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison...I have a lot of differences with the Senator, but the woman's office has responded to every one of my phone calls, letters and emails over the years. At least someone on her staff is paying attention.
Trust me, there are enough rednecks in this state who'd think seceding is great. And there are plenty of them nationwide who'd move here in a heartbeat; bad enough we have the homegrown trash let alone importing more. Secession sounds terrific on a bumper sticker but in reality it would never fly. If it somehow occurred, this state would turn into a battleground...the majority of the people in my region would side with the U.S., me being one of them. But this is all metaphorical. Hopefully Hutchison will beat Perry in the primaries; if not, then perhaps some Democrat will manage to pull it off. I know the majority of the U.S. can't stand us down here after the last 8yrs & this clown is only embarrassing us that much more. My wife's family were always faithful members of the GOP but have become very disgusted with the party; Perry's latest foot-in-mouth disease has completely turned them off.
You put a ? there but I really think you meant !
I think I missed that memo I'll have to go and round up my posse so we can buy one of those right wing miltia compounds that the play soldiers can't afford anymore because there all out of jobs because of Bush's policies.
Just for the hell of it give me one example
Now, that Olbermann over at MSNBC you better watch him he looks like one of those types
I agree with you about Palin, there's no way the commies would finance her education like they did Obama's She did it the old fashion way. She went to enough schools until she found one that would let her graduate.
I guess we just have to live with being a lying liberal !!Please your whole comment stinks of trying to spell Texans out as the old southern racists that you democrats were/still are.
You should own up to your own titles instead of trying to project them.
Way to twist truths. But I guess its just the good ol sounthern boy liberal way eh?
There are some new people on board who seem to throw the terms, Jew, Nazi, and Liberal around with great abandon. Are you familiar with the Kristal nachct ? It's a slippery slope folks.
The message is a very good one...resist leaping socialism.
I don't think they truly intend to declare independence as a practical impossibility, but the subject is a good vehicle for the message.
