    The old Sandborn maps are much more detailed than the old 1930s maps being talked about here. These maps mention the "major" buildings downtown, whereas the Sandborn maps mention ALL the buildings downtown [[and throughout the city). See example here....

    I don't understand how someone can claim copyright ownership of maps produced in 1922 or earlier; those are all long out of copyright.

    The northern boundries of Hamtramck TWPe was a just plan farming community in square acre plots until Mr. Conant came along the proposed a sub-division for African Americans after Detroit annexed Hamtramck TWP.
    The Title map from my grandmother’s house on Moenart Street identifies that area as Hamtramck Township. It’s from around 1920, I think. This is near the intersection of Davison Avenue and 6 Mile Road. The map shows that 6 Mile was then named Jerome Avenue and later became McNichols Road
