Default Sunday Detroit News - Suburban foreclosures soar!

    http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll...=2009904130337

What this means is -when the suburbs become cheaper they will also become more attractive to people in Detroit and other areas. This may be good for the area in general in the long run -but not for inner-city Detroit.

I have that somewhat tounge-in-cheek thread about using illegals to fill the abandoned houses, and its caused a few people to be upset - but I see no solutions.

Cheaper suburbs are likely to attract those in the city who can afford to move.

I see a solution for filling up abandoned homes: require everyone that starts an "Interested in buying a home in Detroit" post to actually BUY ONE!

If I had the money I might consider buying one or two of these homes. Rumor has it that my neighbor 3 doors down bought the house next to him for a price way less then I paid for mine. I might get upset with the real estate bust but I am not alone. In all hindsight If I,d waited 2 yrs , I might have had my house or a simular one for a 1/5th of what I paid.

Soon as we can see if we're headed for a national depression we're on our way

My friend just brought a foreclosed house in Garden City, MI. and he's enjoying it.
