Birmingham, too, had a restaurant week about a month ago:

I think these promotions are great for those of us who can't frequently afford a $100+ dinner for two. It gives a broad exposure to a restaurant, and pulls in a few extra bucks as well. My wife and I went to Detroit's first restaurant week [[twice, actually) and intend to check it out again this spring.

We did Opus One the last time they did this in the fall. It was a great deal.

I hate to be the only one but I can't afford $27 per person for the same food I can get at home on food stamps.
