Anyone recommend a good Luthier?

I recently purchased a used semi-hollow body guitar, and I would like to have it "set-up" as they say by an experienced and trusted guitar guy/gal.

Particularly trust rod adjustment and lowering the action some. Basically anybody who could suggest and perform improvements to it's overall playability.

Know anyone?

Did you check with Elderly Instruments in Lansing or Herb David in A2?

No I haven't yet. I was hoping to find someone closer to Detroit.

I know Elderly Music has a good reputation, but I forgot about Herb David.

Try Koontz Guitar Repair in Ferndale on Hilton. I hear that he's very good.

There is a guitar shop on Charlevoix in GPP. Don't have a clue if they are any good.

I love Motor City Guitar. Such a cool place. Just the drive to Waterford is a haul.

I ended up going with dajosguitars.com in Livonia. So far so good.

Luthier Update - I had a Buzz Fieten Nut installed, a fret job, trust rod adjustment and bridge intonation done. I am very pleased with the work done. I'm no expert, but I would recommend dajosguitars to a friend. Not exactly the cheapest I'm sure but a nice job for a fair price.
