    Default Positive Portrayal of Detroit

Just took a trip flying on Delta and their magazine has some very good reviews, stories and photos about Detroit. I was very impressed seeing Detroit portrayed in such a positive manner [[for a change). Good interview and exchange between William Ford and Harrison Ford. Ford's corporate attitude and products are impressing me more and more each day.

it's good to hear that. I saw a nice article about the DIA Renovations and Detroit as a tourist destination in the Miami Herald in either 2008 or 2007.

I nearly fell over, when do we ever see that sort of thing in print??

All cities are portrayed positively in airline magazines. It's intended to promote tourism and thus air travel. Consider that Detroit is one of Delta's biggest markets.

True enough. Sort of lets a bit of the air out of the sails, but true.

Thanks for the link Cman. Yes, it is the purpose of magazines to show the positive when promoting, but I still think that this is one of the best portrayals of things that Detroit has to offer that I have seen. Mainly, it is 180 degrees away from what most stories present these days. Enjoy it Detroit! Don't shoot yourself in the foot when something good comes along!

I guess the bottom line is that I was smiling when I got through reading the articles rather than cringing like I do after reading many articles and stories.

Obviously written sometime back...still mentions Tribute as [[one of) the best restaurants in town and if I'm correct, still lists the prior chef at Motor City Casino.
