Default Saab is sold to Dutch-based Spyker Automobiles

    http://www.freep.com/article/2010012...rand-to-Spyker

This is great news for the Saab brand. I was hoping from the very begininng that GM would find a buyer for the brand, it was be ashame to see such a historic old brand be totally dissolved and discontinued. From what I've read, Spyker is going to form a new company named "Saab Spyker Automobiles" and the new company has gotten a loan from the Swedish government to go ahead with their plans.

I wonder if Spyker will keep the North American headquarters in Michigan or if those jobs will go out of state? Curious to know also if all the Saab dealerships will survice? Anyway, it's great news for Saab and GM.

I have a feeling that deal is going to tank faster than the Exxon-Valdez unless the Swedish government is paying the way. Spyker and Saab are both losing money at an unsustainable rate. If the Swedish gov't stops supporting them, I'm guessing these companies will be out of luck in a year or two.
