Default Small motor repair in the city?

I have an old box fan that I can't bear to part with.

    It needs some work!

Are there any shops left in the city that could repair it?

Wow you must be attached! You could get a new one at Wally World for $10. I know it doessn't have the charm or memories. You could be able to get a new motor put in that one. Thats all there really is to it.

pcm, I understand the attachment thing. For stuff like this, I'd suggest you talk to the people at McNichols Electric. They have the oddest website of all time, straight out of 1989, but they work on old things and make them work.

Here is a streetview from google, you can get their contact info there.

I've revived dead fans by simply applying a drop or two of 3-In-One oil on the axle and spinning the blades.

Can't say for sure it would work in this case though.

Yea ,that usually works, sometimes it is a pain getting to the axle under the blade. They don't make it easy.
Still it would be nice to find someplace that does work on small electric motors for other things, like tools and such.
I don't know if there is anyplace that rewinds the armatures anymore??

That's what I thought, too. Tried it, didn't help.
