Default Dolphins Give China Most-Favorable Nation Status

Now, since http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/20...t_11184581.htmthis comes from a Chinese News source, it could be a propoganda hoax...but damn. A thousand dolphins can't be wrong. Leave the Chinese alone in International waters!

I'm guessing these are rouge dolphins who escaped their secret training in the tropics...from our special forces...and didn't want their brothers-in-arms to get ALL the credit.

Either that, or the Chinese have learned a little more about them than we...

    ...or would that be 'brothers-WITH-arms'?!

Clearly these whales were acting like socialists. We must stop these collectivist whales before they come to our free market waters along our coast lines!

    Odd coincidence.

Only Humans have the ability of comprehending the concept of liberty...hence the term "human rights".

Only humans? how do you KNOW that? sorry, you can barely comprehend what other humans think or feel, how can you KNOW what another species experiences?

It is wrong to anthropomorphise animals, it is also wrong to assume they don't or can't feel, experience, have a concept of...anything

of course this was simply an odd occurence.

While our Navy ship was pulling into San Diego harbor we would regularly see hundreds of Porpoises, protecting us from what, pirates ? No, just sailboats full of women in bikini's . Moralistic mammals ? So, what the Chinese had, was an underpaid peasant class of socialist protectionism.

Were the Seals acting any differently around the bikini-clad vixens of the sea, also?!

What difference is there between a porpoise and a dolphin again?!

porpoises are smaller by a fairly large margin

Rb...I said comprehend, not experience or feel.

If a nonhuman animal has this capacity, such a species is unknown to us and there is no evidence to suggest or imply that they do based on behavior and studies [[lots of them) of animals both in captivity and in the wild.

I'd like to see mermaids blockade the ports of Saudi Arabia. That would send fear into the hearts of the Mullahs who persecute all women!

actually, you and I have absolutely no idea what level of comprehension there is among non-human species. there certainly IS evidence that some animals, notably the bonobo, chimpanzee, dolphins and squid, do have the ability to appreciate very abstract concepts. Fact is, YOU don't understand my concept of liberty, and I find yours naive and laughable. To contend that animals can not have or understand such concepts is something you can not support, and is something that will probably remain unknowable for some time

If animals do not understand freedom, why do they cry when caught, caged, or leashed?!

Freedom is the base ASSUMPTION of all breathing beings...there needs NO perception of it. It just IS...

I stand corrected...animals, and humans of the liberal socialist variety, lack the ability to comprehend freedom.

If you don't grasp the idea that freedom in human terms transcends the concept of being caged, there is not much hope that you will understand this conversation.
