Default New XBox, and PS3 shooter game to be based in Detroit

Rather than going the traditional TV-licensed root of turning a courtroom format virtual, Rich and Mathis are crafting a third-person perspective, open world shooter set in the ghettos of Detroit. Players will step into the role of convicted felon La-Ron Washington, who’s been released from prison early due to overcrowding but has two strikes hanging over his head. La-Ron is given one last chance; he must stay out of trouble, perform community services and avoid negative street influences and temptations.

I forgot to add the tidbit of how Judge Greg Mathis will be playing a judge on this game. The game seems kinda weird, but I'll give it a chance since it's based in the D.

Judge Greg Mathis denies he is planning a controversial video game aimed at sending youngsters a message that crime doesn't pay.

According to a story issued by Yahoo.com, Mathis, a Detroit native, is partnering with Hollywood filmmaker Matty Rich to Produce "Mathis Detroit Street Judge," a raw and sometimes explicit video game set in the "ghettos of Detroit."
The video game also uses prison rape to teach youth the perils of going to prison, according to the Yahoo story.

"We may see young people who make the wrong choice and go to prison and are assaulted repeatedly [[in this game)," the story quotes Mathis as saying.
The Yahoo story also quotes Mathis as saying the video gamer is a "combination of an action-packed criminal activity, as well as the opportunity to turn their lives around and pursue a level of success ..."
The story and the quotes are fictitious, according to Mathis' publicist, Helen Shelton.

"There's no agreement to do the video," Shelton told The Detroit News. "He's never seen the video. We don't know where these comments are coming from."
Shelton said the video game is in contrast with what Mathis stands for.
"This is someone who has dedicated his life to helping the disadvantaged in his community," added Shelton.

A representative for Warner Brothers, which is quoted in the story as having a "first-look deal" with Mathis and Rich, said she was not aware of the project.
Efforts to reach the writer of the Yahoo article or a spokesman for the Internet company were unsuccessful.

Any chance Kwame could be behind the game? Remember, he said he had Mathis' support and then Mathis came out in the media to denounce him.
