Default Car & Driver Magazine Photo

I spotted this in the latest print issue of car & driver [[Feb'10, p.86).

Location not disclosed in the article, only mentions of Michigan snowy roads. A few other photos in the set use MCS as the backdrop.

Anyone have background on the ballerina installation? I've always been curious.

Don't know the history, but can pinpoint the location.

A few doors to the west is one of the top ten new bar-b-cue joints in the nation, inbetween is Detroit's most progressive real estate agency. Another few doors east is a laid-back old-school bar where they do a mean hipster karaoke.

North side of Michigan Avenue, just east of 14th.

I believe it was on Michigan Avenue by LJs and Slows but I may be mistaken

Yes, that's the location. Who's the artist? Commissioned? Message?

It's not often that I see stencil art in the city, besides the Hygienic Dress League.

Screw the mural--that is one really nice-looking BMW.

I think this white wall behind the Saturn is the location [[pre-mural)

Still a really nice row of businesses.

Seems to be a kind of North-Korean inspired mural.
Tried to find some sort of matching picture, didn't find it but I did find was a stamp of a quite familiar train to me.

See that second train? That's a Dutch double decker train. Exhibit A.

I believe Jerry from the Park Bar may know some of the history behind this mural. Don't know why and where I heard that...but it sticks in my noggin.

I'll try to remember to ask him, but if any of y'all see him first...

It is actually a picture of the Chinese celebrating their annual May day. These women are acrobats/ballerina's who are in the show.

I just read this in a magazine the other day.
